True Colors – Poem

Let me see your true colors.
Let me see when you shine bright
And your glow dims.
Tell me about your day
Whether it’ll bring me up or down.
Let me show you I care.
I wanna see you
for your true colors.
Let me see how you are when you’re relaxed.
Let me see you not tensed up.
Let’s just relax
While you show me your colors.
Let’s just relax
As we listen to your favorite music
So I can get to know you better.
Tell me stories about your past
So I know why you act the way you do.
Just tell me how you were shaped.
Tell me why you believe what you believe.
Tell me stories of what created you.
You’re who you are as you are
And I wouldn’t change a thing
Just let me see how,
Let me see why
It’s really all I can ask.
I wont judge you for your choices
Or your responses to events.
Just tell me them
So I know how you act
And why you act the way you do.
I am here
Not as one whom judges
But as one whom wants to learn.
I wanna know you for who are.
I want to see the reasons you act the way you do.
I want to understand you for whom you are
There is no judgement in my eyes.
There is no hatred in my soul.
There are no lies hidden behind my words.
When I see you
It is the yearn to learn more.
And I want to understand
How it was you came to be
To be this amazing person that stood before me.
I want to learn
How much you’ve really changed
So I can appreciate the magnitude of events
That have you lead you here to me.
Let me see your true colors
So I can show you mine
With no veil of uncertainty.
