Vegan Cuts January 2019 Unboxing

So fun fact: I meant to post December 2018’s VeganCuts unboxing but then I accidentally deleted the photos because I thought I had already finished up with this sooo I hope you enjoy the first box of 2019 for Vegan Cuts. Admittedly, this is not my favorite box that I have ever received and was actually mildly disappointed though this may solely be because I received a different package on the same day which I will also be covering.

What did I receive?

IMG_4288.jpg

So this is Dave’s Creamy Ginger Citrus Gourmet Hot Sauce. It’s definitely a weird item to receive in a snack box, especially since it arrived in a full sized bottle. I have no idea what this would be good for.

IMG_4289.jpg

The coolest and weirdest item in this box by far. I had no idea this existed but basically it is vegan chicken soup and vegan garden vegetable soup in a k- cup so you’re supposed to use your keurig machine in order to make this and it also gives you directions on how to make it if you don’t have the machine. This is such a nifty and weird product, it’s actually really cool.

IMG_4290.jpg

These are basically vegan cheetos and I am absolutely in love.

IMG_4291.jpg

I received these in a previous box (though I’m not sure which one) and I was a really big fan so I’m excited for the opportunity to have these again because I was absolutely in love.

IMG_4292.jpg

As you know, most gummies are not vegan due to the gelatin which is absolutely disgusting and most definitely not vegan, or even vegetarian. Which is why the existence of these things is so cool even though I am definitely not sure how I feel about the flavor.

IMG_4293.jpg

Alright, so I had actually never heard of this brand so I’m really excited about trying this and lowkey, I have been having some sort of weird caramel craving recently so I am really happy to be getting this box.

IMG_4294.jpg

Crackers to put in my soup. Not really sure what else I’m supposed to think about this.

img_4295

So honestly, I have absolutely no idea what this is but it’s banana with peanut butter. Interested in trying it because it does seem like a pretty decent flavor match up.

IMG_4296.jpg

Fun fact: I just realized now that this box kind of had a yellow theme to it. But anyways, I actually really like pineapple and while I’m not entirely sure what this is, I am excited to try it.

IMG_4297.jpg

I am curious to see how this works but at the same time, I somehow doubt that I will notice a clear difference but maybe I’ll try this when I’m trying to do homework and study or something like that.

IMG_4298.jpg

Final item. I am allergic to strawberries so I did give this to my roommate. Let’s not die this year.

Vegan Cuts vs. Urthbox!

So when I first got the two subscriptions, I had always kind of thought to do this competition. I had seen videos about both companies on YouTube and actually binged both videos on a constant, seeing what comes out of these boxes and I desperately wanted to try it so when I came across the money to be able to do this, I actually jumped at the chance because as we all know, this girl loves her snacks and sweets. So for things that are going to be considered, I am going to discuss items/ shipping/ annoyances/ misc.

So while I did end up buying two months of the Vegan Cuts subscription, we will only be considered the December 2018 boxes for both. Specifically, I got the Vegan Urthbox large box that came with 25 + snacks and then I just bought the normal vegan cuts subscription box as you don’t get too many options.

Initially I thought I would like Urthbox better as I was really excited about having 25+ snacks because it was bigger so I thought it would have a very large variety and I also enjoyed the fact that it gave me a lot of options on topic of size. Unfortunately, this was one of their biggest downfalls as they had so many repeats, I had multiples of quite a few items and even had 3 bags of the exact same chips.

Because of this, I felt ripped off because I bought a large box expecting to have so many different snacks and options and was downright disappointed by the fact that I got many repeats to items that I ultimately didn’t even like or turned out to be allergic to (which I will be talking about soon so look out for that once that gets cleared up!) Some of the items were actually pretty good, I have always loved Enjoy Life so it didn’t bother me too much that I got 3 products from their company (mind you, I did get two of their berry medley item).

Another observation is that many of them were very savory or accidentally vegan items. Many of them didn’t seem like they were actively trying to promise to be vegan which made me wary about the products entirely (such as the raisins). None of them were sweet and many of them seemed very odd and not even hard to fine. When I get a snack subscription, I fully expect to get items that I could never have otherwise and that just wasn’t the case. In fact, all of the items that I likely wouldn’t have bought in normal time, I didn’t even like.

It should also be noted that I bought this box on Black Friday (November 23rd, 2018) and did not receive this box until December 30th, 2018. So basically the month of December was over and perhaps if they are always behind in snack boxes that isn’t a big deal but I was really looking forward to having a snack box in December and that just didn’t happen.

In terms of pricing, I did only spend about $25 on the large box due to it being Black Friday and having a coupon on top of that but I did look at the 12+ price and it was $29.99 for one month at a time which is more expensive than VeganCuts. I have a hard time saying that I would choose Urthbox over VeganCuts but if you preferred savory snacks like chips or even weird items like 3 different types of salt water then maybe Urthbox is for you!

As for VeganCuts, I admittedly bought the actual subscription box much, much later than I bought Urthbox. My original plan hadn’t been to compare the same month as I actually bought the Vegan Cuts on December 30th, expecting it to pay for the January month and then realized after they took out the January box before I even received the December box that it wasn’t the case. However, it’s probably a good thing that this box came as it gives you a better idea of what you would receive from the different companies in the same month.

I didn’t have any problems with the items at all actually, all of them were new and while some of them I had tried (some of them were even featured in the Chocolate Treasure Chest!) and some were new, I was excited about all of the new items. It’s very possible that this box drew me in faster because of my sweet tooth. But I got excited about items that I knew that I would never be able to impulse buy on the regular such as chocolate bars and chocolate stuff in general and even the rice krispy thing which is something that I have missed so much since going vegan that I ate it immediately, I couldn’t even hold off.

I likely would have had the same reaction to the marshmallows if it weren’t for the fact that I watched the December 2018 unboxing from multiple people and went to my local Earth Fare and bought a bag right then and there. The items were unique and something that was hard to find like Four Sygmatic hot cacao mix an the rice krispy treat. I also got the Churro flavored cotton candy which was honestly one of my favorite things in the entire box.

But not only were there sweet things but also savory, which I really appreciated because I liked the fact that I could get a box and get both depending on my mood like the Coconut Rice and Jackfruit Puffs. I liked the fact that I literally got a meal with my box as being a college student, I get so sick of the caf that this gave me an exciting break from the cafeteria for a day and as somebody (and probably the only vegan ever) that hadn’t had Jackfruit yet, I was so excited to try it.

So besides the shipping misunderstanding, which was honestly my mistake, it was so exciting and only $22.95. I’m really excited to see January’s box! Ultimately, I do think Vegan Cuts WON the competition. They were cheaper and seemed to be more worth it, offering items that you might never have gotten before and was a lot more exciting to try!

Now the real question: Did I keep either subscription? Unfortunately, no I didn’t. I did end up buying two months of Vegan Cuts due to my confusion but my college student budget honestly can’t afford this kind of commitment and I honestly get overwhelmed with all of the snacks that I feel like I have to hurry through them to try it all before the next box or I feel guilty for failing. But if I ever did come back to get another subscription, it would definitely be Vegan Cuts or maybe we’ll try a different one next time…

Do you guys know any other Vegan Subscription boxes? Also, do you disagree with who won my competition? Let me know down in the comments! I would love to be able to interact with you guys more!

Being a Vegan @ Queens University of Charlotte

So honestly, I’m not going to lie and say being vegan during college is the easiest thing in the world but I will say that my University actually makes it a lot easier than other Universities.

I attend Queens University of Charlotte, located in North Carolina. They actually do label all of their vegan items in the cafeteria and you can look online to see if some of their staples are vegan. They have a soy milk bar, one with original soy milk and one for chocolate soy milk. When the cafeteria is lacking, I often resort to just getting their cereal because you can just look online to see which of their cereals are vegan.

The actual cooked meals section can be very weird. Some of the items are absolutely amazing and then sometimes it’s very questionable. They actually do have a vegan/ vegetarian section for core meals. This section often has some sort of tofu meal, sometimes curry and sometimes vegan chili. They make a lot of use of tofu, beans, and rice. I am not a huge spicy person so that has been my biggest issue in the cafeteria, often leading me to the salad bar or even just getting a bowl of cereal (usually, I’m getting a bowl of cereal, honestly.)

In the Gluten- Free section, they typically have some sort of red potatoes there which is actually my favorite thing at Queens. Randomly, it will be over seasoned or under cooked but that is a very random situation. They also randomly have vegan mashed potatoes which I get so excited about!

Breakfast is obviously a little different, but they always have some fruit that’s obviously vegan and oatmeal. My favorite thing that they have breakfast wise is their hashbrowns and randomly when there is an omelet section, I can beg the guy manning that machine to clean their machine and cook some mushrooms for me.

They have a salad bar with some really dressing (I love balsamic vinaigrette), they also have chickpeas, lettuce, and all of the other basics. They label everything in this section whether or not its vegan which is always fun! I would love for them to add mushrooms though.

They also have a decent deli where they have their breads labelled online and then all of their vegetables and things like that are obviously vegan. I would LOVE for them to add like grilled tofu or something, just to give me something like that and if they added it then my love would be amazing

I actually have an unlimited meal plan which allows me for 5 meal exchanges. So I can go to Lions Den or the Coffeehouse to get stuff there. The Coffeehouse is basically just an unofficial Starbucks so I can get their coffee, I just have to remember to add soy, coconut, or almond milk. As for the food section, they actually have hummus, peanut butter and jelly, and this quinoa sandwich thing.

The Lions Den is actually one of my favorite places to go because I am absolutely obsessed with their Garden Burger, which is this vegan burger that I can add grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, and mustard. It’s my favorite thing at Queens and makes me so happy.

I do randomly get into a protein problem which is why I am so happy that the coffeehouse actually does have vegan protein bars and there is a Harris Teeter .6 miles away from campus that you can easily go to.

Overall, it’s definitely not the easiest thing. You’re going to be constantly battling your temptations when the cafeteria has a really decent thing but being a vegan at University is not an impossible task. It’s gotten easier over the semester as I learned that some of the cereals actually are vegan and I was introduced to Lions Den about midway through the semester. But if it’s something you’re passionate about then it is not hard. Plus, if you’re in a common vegan area, you can always try out some of the restaurants randomly which is something I definitely do every once in awhile.

Vegan Cuts Chocolate Treasure Chest Review (Best to Worst Ranking!)

So I was actually back at my University when I received this in the mail. I bought it during Black Friday and used the wrong date because I wasn’t thinking about when it would actually arrive versus where I would be at the time but on December 15th, I came back to Greensboro and have been spending the last month trying the contents of the box and posting a review on my Twitter. So if you want to hear my honest thoughts, please go to my Twitter account to find my thoughts.

My thoughts on VeganCuts: The box actually arrived sooner than I thought it would since I bought it so late into November, I figured it wouldn’t be until February before I actually got the box but my mom told me that it actually arrived in the mail on January 3rd so timing and delivery is really cool. It came with a few coupons for the products inside but none of the products are sold near me besides online so I’m not really sure what I’m gonna do with that. Specific to the box: I was really, really happy that none of it had strawberries because I am very, very allergic to them and would hate to not eat something…

In the Future: I however did order the January Vegan Cuts box so I will be posting that review soon and when I get back to Queens (on the 5th), I will pick up my Urthbox package from the mail center and post that as well. I will be posting an unboxing this month and as I finish the boxes, I will post my review of that particular box.

Rankings!

  • Theo Peanut Butter and Jelly – Chocolate Clusters

I’m not really sure what it is about this but I really liked it and I think when you’re taking into consideration that this is really a snack box, this fit the idea in the best way. It was really good and I craved it until it was all gone. This is actually the thing in the box that I’m most likely to buy in the future.

  • Turkish Delight Vegan Chocolate Truffle with Rose Essential Oil

As anyone on this page may know, I am absolutely OBSESSED with floral flavors and tastes so I always tend to buy those kind of things when I see them making this the thing that I would be most likely to buy before now. It definitely had a strong rose flavor to it and I actually ate that entire chocolate bar within the day that I tried it.

  • Freeyumm Double Chocolate Cookie

This was like a childhood dream coming back to me at full force. My mom used to make these No- Bake Oatmeal Cookies all of the time and it tasted exactly like this. I would totally buy this again but only if I could buy a huge box of them rather than just a measly little cookies.

  • Organic Ocho Coconut Bar

Does anybody remember Almond Joys and the parent thing that was called Mounds or whatever and it didn’t have any almonds? This tasted almost exactly like that, I would totally buy this in a heart beat, especially if it was at the cash register because I could totally see this being a major impulse buy on my part.

Smile Raw Superfood Bar – Banana, Pumpkin Seed, and Cacao Powder

So I wasn’t even entirely sure what this was, it was definitely a kind of bar but I’m not sure if it was specific to a kind of lifestyle (like weight lifting) or something like that and this honestly ignited the biggest banana craving of all time. Between this and that mint chocolate chip powder you’ll see below, I had a minor and short term addiction to smoothies (right up until I counted the calories on MyFitnessPal and almost cried.

  • Divine Dark Chocolate

So not gonna lie, this tasted exactly like those Dark Chocolate bars you would sell for your school in order to try and win those ridiculous prizes (which can we talk about a conspiracy I have about this because nobody ever talked about actually receiving their prizes) and honestly, I really wanted to look up their company to see if they have a caramel one because honestly, I think it would taste so amazing. (They don’t, sadly)

  • Vanini Dark Chocolate

On the real, this seemed like the most expensive chocolate in the entire world ($40 dollars for a regular sized bar) so I was fully expecting this to taste amazing and I was not disappointed. However, I could never afford to buy this in real life!

  • HUM Raw Beauty: Green Superfood Powder – Mint Chocolate Chip Infusion

I actually really did like this even though I would ultimate make this smoothie so complicated that it probably made the nutritional value of this null and void. It was really good before I added it, I just thought it tasted very watered (I had to use a glass of water because I didn’t have almond milk at the time)

  • Back to Nature Classic Creme Cookies

There is absolutely nothing wrong with these cookies. My problem with them is that they tasted exactly like Oreos and the ingredients list was so similar that it was almost useless not to simply call it oreos. I would have loved to try their chocolate chunk cookies because I feel that’s harder to get involved with.

  • Numi Chocolate Pu-Erh Organic Tea

Alright, so I had a pretty upsetting reaction. What I originally did was make a mug of tea with water and added one package of the tea before deciding it wasn’t strong enough and added a second thing. I didn’t taste any chocolate whatsoever and was very disappointed by this but if you add a bit of sugar than it does bring out the taste a bit. Numi’s did give me a recommendation for how I could try it so I will be posting/ or already have posted my thoughts on their recommendation on Twitter (@shewritingmore)

  • Raaka Pink Sea Salt – Unroasted Dark Chocolate

This was actually VERY good but it was insanely salty. Which I could see being nice if you were in just the right kind of mood and I could definitely see other people enjoying this piece of chocolate.

  • Sheffa Granola Bar – Mint Dark Chocolate

This was honestly just not my favorite thing in the entire world. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great and I definitely wouldn’t be buying it again but it was a nice thing to have the opportunity to try.

  • Antidote – Cacao with Dates

This was a super bitter and honestly, I am curious about some of the other flavors (specifically the lavender chocolate) however due to it being so bitter, I likely wont ever buy it again.

  • Earnest Eats Double Choco Espresso Bar

I am very into sweets which is a theme in this. If I didn’t think it was sweet than it was unlikely for me to like the chocolate but the problem for this was that it tasted like bitter black coffee and it just wasn’t my style. I did give it to my mom’s fiance and I think he finished it? I’m not entirely sure honestly.

  • Equal Exchange Chocolates – Lemon Ginger with Black Pepper

So, I ate exactly one piece of this. I originally loved the taste. I have always adored lemon and I was admittedly worried about the ginger because I hate it. So when it was simply in my mouth, I didn’t have a problem with it and THEN I made the decision to swallow it and that’s when the ginger hit me in the face. So I did ultimately give this to my mom’s fiance because he’s more likely to like these kind of things (he also finished off the Double Choco Espresso Bar)

  • Neat Black Bean Brownie Mix

Nope. Nope. Nope. Easily the worst thing in the entire box. Making it wasn’t even the problem but when I ate it, it was bitter and disgusting. Maybe if you didn’t tell me this was gonna be chocolatey and maybe if it wasn’t supposed to be a brownie, it would be okay but as it stands, I never ate more than a bite and I couldn’t get anyone else to eat it (because they didn’t like it).

Urthbox Review + Unboxing

Thoughts?

So I would first like to note that I ordered this on Black Friday, expecting this sometime in early December due to it being the December snack box however I didn’t receive the package until December 30th. Otherwise, I do like many of the products and while I have some annoyances, I’m overall very happy with the box though it is obsessed with protein items.

Complaints?

I bought the biggest box available out of curiosity of what would come into the box. In total, I received 40 items (I also received a small box of products) but many of them are repeats of the products (which I will point out which products were repeated. Now, I will say that I don’t mind if there are multiple products from the same company as long as they are not the exact same flavor. However, I don’t want to pay for a snack box and then receive multiple of a couple things. It’s annoying, especially if you don’t like that specific product.

What did I receive?

img_4120

I actually received three of these which is pretty useless considered the fact that this is only good for your first box, not to mention the fact that if you go on the Hello Fresh website, they don’t have a vegan meal plan. Only a vegetarian one with no way of requesting it to be veganized and no guarantee that you can even find a vegan option because you choose your menu after you pay. Ultimately, I gave the other two to my roommate and one of her friends and will likely also give away mine due to not wanting to pay for something when I have no guarantee that I will be able to use it.

IMG_4121.jpg

So not gonna lie, I recently bought a whole bunch of skinny pop popcorn so this wasn’t the most exciting of the items that I received simply due to this fact.

IMG_4122.jpg

I’m actually curious if this is one of those accidentally vegan products. I wouldn’t be very impressed with raisins typically but I am curious about raisins that are fruit infused.

IMG_4123.jpg

I actually really like tea and I don’t think I’ve ever had Jasmine Tea? Which is probably hilarious but it just never came up.

IMG_4124.jpg

So as you may know, Lays Barbecue is actually vegan so I haven’t been missing barbecue chips but it is cool that there is 15 grams of protein. I typically lean towards protein bars when I need some protein but chips seem like a good idea when I’m not in the mood for something sweet (But is that really ever a thing?)

IMG_4125.jpg

As much caffeine as coffee? I’m down.

IMG_4127.jpg

It seems like a weird concept to me that they would try this combination but maybe it’s really good? Also I received three of these.

IMG_4128.jpg

I’m not the biggest mango fan but I’m excited to give this a try.

IMG_4130.jpg

So I received quite a few seawater products and I’m really confused? Like does this go in water? What is this for? Why is it salt water? This one is flavored at least, I guess. I gave the berry one to my roommate since I’m allergic to strawberries and she absolutely hated it but maybe it’ll be a taste buds thing (I’m trying to be optimistic, I’m sorry)

IMG_4131.jpg

I have absolutely no idea what this flavor is? But I will say that I typically steer clear of caffeine free drinks (besides water) so I’m not sure how I’m gonna feel about this)

IMG_4132.jpg

Alright so I will say that I love Enjoy Life! I’ve only ever had their double chocolate brownie cookie things and their chocolate chip though. I’m actually really excited about getting to try other flavors because none of these are accessible where I live! (Also from what I can tell, this is just raspberries, cranberries, and blueberries so I hope there is no strawberries) I also got a double of this particular flavor for Enjoy Life.

img_4133

So, I actually thought I would like this because I do enjoy lemon flavored items however I did try this at the time of writing it so I might as well tell you, I did not enjoy it. The first bite was okay but the more I ate it, the more I hated it. I also got a double of it so I’m not really sure what I’m gonna do with it honestly.

IMG_4134.jpg

So honestly, I’m not the biggest chip person because when I’m eating snacks, I go for something sweeter on average but I am curious about the flavor as I love tomatoes. My main concern is that I don’t think I’ve ever had lentils? Which I know is a staple in the vegan diet but I have never found a need for it or access to it so I guess we shall see how this goes.

img_4140

More chips, however this one doesn’t seem as bad since it is just normal sea salt. I feel like it’s kinda harder to hate this kind of thing? If it is super bagel- like, I might try to add some cream cheese to it because honestly, I’m kinda curious about it.

img_4145

This would indeed the final seawater item, except this one is simply 100% sea water. I am still not sure how I feel about the idea of sea water nor do I understand the possible benefits so I will likely look into the company to see if they explain their fascination.

IMG_4135.jpg

I did get a double of this but this is probably the one and only item where I don’t mind it. Since it is daily nuts and fruit, I am curious to see the possible changes and since I have a package from a different company with basically the same items, I’m curious to see what the result turns out to be.

IMG_4136.jpg

I always love getting the reminder that kids can eat vegan as well and that there are even vegan products that are oriented to kid. It wont be long before we’re graced with vegan dinosaur chicken nuggets and I’m excited for that time to come alive.

IMG_4137.jpg

I love bars so I’m fully expecting to enjoy this.

IMG_4138.jpg

I’m actually incredibly nervous about trying this. A mango habanero is probably the last thing that I would ever buy on my own because I’m not a huge fan of mangoes nor do I really enjoy habanero anything but maybe this combination will be amazing?

IMG_4141.jpgGuys, my deepest sadness is the fact that Queens doesn’t offer banana’s all of the time. In fact, they’re fruit section is severely lacking but we’re not talking about my University today. Instead we’re gonna talk about how freaking excited I am to try this!

IMG_4143.jpg

I love lemon flavored things but I’m still not sure how I feel about fruit being infused with raisins so we’ll see what happens.

img_4144

So I did get three of these and I actually have a huge bag of the sea salt one but I’m not sure how I feel about this “sweet sriracha” flavor. I probably wouldn’t typically buy it on a normal day but I am interested in trying it.

IMG_4146.jpg

So truth be told, this is another item that I ate before writing this blog post but it was honestly really good. I have always loved raspberry and honestly, it just reminded me of a raspberry truffle.

IMG_4147.jpg

So I am honestly really excited about trying this because I used to absolutely adore gummies but I actually have to check with the company since there is strawberry in this. I can have it as long as all of these fruit aren’t in one. So like, I can have skittles, I just can’t have the strawberry ones so as long as it’s the same situation then I will definitely be trying this. If not, I’ll give it to somebody else.

IMG_4148.jpg

VEGAN GUMMIES!! They’re kind of a weird flavor but I am so, so excited.

IMG_4149 (1).jpg

So this seems like a decent item but it’s specifically used for smoothies and I actually can’t have smoothies at Queens (I don’t have a blender) so I will likely save this for when I go home to try this so I’m really sorry!

IMG_4150.jpg

Okay so I have seen this in so many unboxings that I was actually really hoping that this would be in one of my boxes and I am so excited about trying this as well! I will likely put it on some bread or something?

IMG_4151.jpg

I will not be drinking this. It’s a large bottle that I know I’m going to hate because I can not stand watermelon flavored anything so I did give this to my roommate to try.

Top 5 Vegan YouTubers

I have never been a YouTuber, save for a short time where I posted cringy videos that were way too long and essentially unedited until I ultimately deleted them and traded YouTube for this blog.

But I have been obsessed with YouTube for years and YouTube is what really inspired me to make the decision to go vegan and I really just wanted to share with you the five people who I adore and made me feel confident about a decision that changed my entire life but I don’t regret even a moment of it.

* ON A SIDE NOTE, I MOVED INTO MY DORM ON THE 17TH SO BE READY FOR THOSE POSTS IN THE COMING WEEKS!

1. Kalel

Kalel is an amazing YouTuber who has made me feel better about veganism all of the time. There are moments of accidents, where you accidentally eat something that has milk or eggs in it. There are moments of incidents where you order food at a restaurant and they put cheese in it even though you asked them not to.

In a video that she posted recently (I’m Not Really a Vegan? 4/5) , she talks about percentage. Where she cut out foods but still owned purses and leather. She talked about being a certain percentage of being a vegan and it meant a lot to me that she did this. I only went vegan recently and I’ll admit that I’m more plant based diet than I am anything right now. I want to go vegan where I take out leather, cotton clothing and items.

Not only does she talk about the struggles of being a vegan, she talks about becoming a healthy vegan, posts what I ate in a day, and even talks about vegan foods you must buy. There are two people on this list that convinced me to go Vegan when I began debating it and she was the other one. I realized that I wasn’t saying goodbye to good food, I was just changing what I ate and I was making a more conscious decision about what I was doing.

2. SweetPotatoSoul

SweetPotatoSoul is the other person that convinced me to go vegan when I was doing research. Her entire YouTube is filled with amazing recipes of vegan Cinnamon Rolls and food during Thanksgiving. She talks about what you can make with a certain amount of food such as 30 dollars or whatever else.

When it comes to being a vegan, there is this huge myth that veganism is both expensive and just eating lettuce but that’s just not the truth. It’s possible and while vegan food at restaurants tend to lean towards the more expensive side, that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible.

3. The Vegan View

The Vegan View is a group of girls talking about everything that has to do with veganism. They taste test vegan foods, talk about veganism as a culture, and even why vegan’s don’t eat different things.

The Vegan View was found around the time that I actually went vegan, and it allowed me to see the point of view of different reasons why vegans didn’t eat something. I enjoyed seeing multiple different opinions and I realized that no vegan is the exact same which I really appreciate.

4. Margot Lee

Margot Lee may be specified for college students when it comes to the vegan community online. I had actually started watching her YouTube videos about college when I noticed that all of her meals were vegan and I got really curious until I realized that she was actually a vegan.

She makes you feel like you can actually be a vegan at University, and it’s pretty nice to see somebody in college life being able to succeed as a vegan on nutrition basis.

I don’t know if it’s obvious yet but I am OBSESSED with ‘What I Eat in a Day’ videos.

5. Pick Up Limes

I’ve always liked her videos, as she makes you feel confident about your life and your decisions. She shows you vegan foods and how to videos which is something that I will forever adore.

On top of that, if you’re looking into becoming a vegan, I highly suggest checking her out. Not only does she talk about insanely important things when you’re considering veganism, but she also has really easy vegan recipes that I highly suggest looking into.

Bagel with Vegan Cream Cheese

Most bagels are actually vegan, even though you do have to be careful with most breads as they often put milk or eggs in it. However, most bagels don’t fit the same equation, but it would still be a good idea to read the ingredients just in case!

As for the cream cheese, I will admit that I have not found many vegan cream cheese’s but it was one of my biggest goals when I first became vegan because I LOVED cream cheese. It especially became a goal after I visited New York City and fell in love with vegan cream cheese.

While the vegan cream cheese that I found is not the same from New York, it’s still really good and tastes remarkably like vegan cream cheese. I highly suggest the Kite Hill Original Cream Cheese however there are a few other flavors of theirs that you could always try out!

Panda Puffs Cereal with Almond Milk

I will admit that when I went vegan, I had no idea that the cereal itself is almost ALWAYS made with milk. I was super disappointed to find out that I would never get to have fruity pebbles but after a trip to Earth Fare (A Vegan’s Food Heaven), then I found Envirokidz which has many flavors of cereal.

I have tried Choco Chimps, Lemurs Cereal, Koala Crisp, and Panda Puffs. I am definitely planning on trying more and even exploring other companies at some point but right now, I am obsessed with the Panda Puffs Cereal!

The almond milk is definitely not required, I’m sure soy milk, rice milk, or whatever else would be absolutely fine. I just prefer SWEETENED almond milk with my panda puffs cereal.

Bacon and Provolone Cheese Sandwich

This isn’t exactly the most breakfast- style foods but it’s definitely one of my favorite foods to eat for breakfast. This was actually one of the first foods that I found that I ate constantly when I first became vegan.

The Lightlife Smart Bacon is my favorite bacon brand, though I will admit that it’s the only brand that I have ever had but it’s really good and paired with Follow Your Heart Provolone Cheese (the BEST vegan- cheese brand), it’s unbeatable.

Make sure to check your bread so that it doesn’t have any milk or eggs, I personally prefer the French bread that can be found in the deli department of most grocery stores.

Raspberry and Peach Oatmeal

Great Value Raspberry Peach Oatmeal is my favorite oatmeal which can only be found at Walmart. Most oatmeals are vegan so any oatmeal or flavors that you prefer are perfectly fine, this is just my preference.
